New Mexico debates state courts’ budget

The New Mexico state legislature and governor are discussing whether the state courts’ budget should be increased, reports the Feb. 3 Albuquerque [N.M.] Journal. The legislature is considering a proposed $6.7 million increase that would include pay raises for judges and an additional five new judgeships, as well as funding to rebuild the state’s drug court program.
