Judge muted mike to court’s audio recording system

A Phoenix judge has been banned from ever again working as a judicial officer in Arizona, according to a Oct. 13 article on the Courthouse News website.

The ban stemmed from allegations made to the state’s Commission on Judicial Conduct. The investigation uncovered a number of problems, ranging from unprocessed disposition reports to missing money to inconsistent or nonexistent training of staff. In addition, the judge, according to the filing, “regularly muted his microphone to avoid being recorded on the court’s recording system.”
