The Orange County (Calif.) Register has reported that a temporary settlement has been reached in a dispute that led in a picket last year before the county courthouse after the work hours of court reporters were cut from full- to part-time, causing a drop in their pay and a hike in their health care costs.
According to the article, under the temporary settlement, about 100 court reporters will receive $2,300 each to help cover the higher health care costs, while talks about a permanent solution are expected to start in September.
