NCRA recently exhibited at the American Bar Association’s annual Techshow Conference and Expo in Chicago. Volunteer NCRA members spent the three-day event working a booth where they offered attendees demonstrations of realtime technology, information about NCRA and its benefits, and the importance of court reporters in ensuring history is preserved. The effort was part of NCRA’s National Outreach Committee’s charges, which include increasing public awareness of the court reporting profession and the need for more court reporting students. NCRA member volunteers included: Nancy Bistany, RPR, Morton Grove, Ill.; Kathy Cortopassi, RMR, CRR, CBC, CCP, Crown Point, Ind.; Kathie Grove, RPR, CRR, CLVS, Wheaton, Ill.; Melanie Humphrey-Sonntag, RDR, CRR, CCP, St. Charles, Ill.; Cathy Rajcan, RDR, CRR, CBC, CCP, Wheaton, Ill.; and Maria Winn, RPR, CRR, a freelance reporter from Morton Grove, Ill.
