NCRA’s 2014 Convention & Expo, happening July 31 – Aug. 3 in San Francisco at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square Hotel, is the place to be to experience firsthand the latest and the greatest in new products and services for the court reporting profession. This year, more than two dozen vendors will be on hand on the Expo floor to display and demonstrate their wares including companies such as Acculaw, Inc., Advantage Software, AristoCAT, eDepoze, Gigatron/StenoCAT, LiveDeposition.com, Realtime Coach, Stenograph, Stenovations, and more.
“The best thing about attending NCRA’s national event is the chance to be immersed in a community where shared best practices and professional improvement creates a synergy that takes on a life of its own,” said Kevin Krusiewicz, a product specialist with eDepoze.
“When visiting eDepoze, either at our booth or our two educational sessions, attendees can expect to gain new insights into increasing their value to their firm owners and law firm clients. Nobody wants to become a commodity, and we can give you the tools to stay ahead of the curve.”
According to Krusiewicz, the company is currently working on its next major release, which will include more powerful reseller management features and a new revenue stream that will offer lawyers a product that helps them with witness preparation.
At the Stenograph booth, convention attendees will have the opportunity to interact with some of the company’s most knowledgeable sales and technical people, as well as leadership and learn more about its CaseViewNet Cloud and Gateway products designed to provide reporters a secure method for providing interactive realtime access to testimony through an Internet connection or a wireless network, said Dan Petersen, director of marketing for Stenograph.
“Attendees will see firsthand how Stenograph products can help increase their productivity,” Peterson said. “They will also have the chance to sit down and write on the award-winning Diamante and see just why so many others have fallen in love with it. In addition, visitors will see Case CATalyst 15 in action and learn how Stenograph’s Live Suggestions can provide cleaner realtime now and less editing later. We will also be showcasing CaseViewNet Cloud for users of all CAT systems,” he added.
Visitors to the LiveDepostion.com booth at the 2014 Expo can expect to experience the simplicity of setting up and using the only universal solution for streaming realtime to both onsite and remote deposition participants, according to Steven Genter, the company’s vice president of sales.
“Attendees will receive hands-on experience and demos of LiveDeposition.com’s RemoteRealtime™ and LocalRealtime™ products, as well as take the newly updated iPad, Android, and Kindle Fire mobile apps for a test drive,” said Genter. “The convention is extremely beneficial to both attendees and vendors because they are able to network with each other and gain insight into current and upcoming industry happenings.”
According to Johnny Jackson, president of Stenovations, Inc., the company plans to unveil a standard-looking computer keyboard that incorporates the same patented, ultra-sensitive touch technology as the LightSpeed.
“I will be on hand to present and describe the different aspects of the KISS LightSpeed that has 128 sensors as opposed to 62 on the current model, plus a Hedman style asterisk key,” said Jackson. “This model should be especially appealing to reporters who are partial to the discontinued LSS model.”
Other highlights for the 2014 NCRA Convention & Expo include keynote presenter and world-renowned speaker on leadership Tommy Spaulding, president of the Spaulding Companies Corp, a national leadership development, speaking, training, consulting, and executive coaching organization, the installation of NCRA’s 2014-2015 Officers and Board of Directors, and the presentation of the Distinguished Service Award — the highest award bestowed by NCRA.
