ProFootballTalk.nbcsports.com reported on Sept. 15 that defense attorneys for Greg Hardy, NFL defensive end for the North Carolina Panthers, hired a court reporter to ensure his initial trial was recorded and transcripts provided. Under North Carolina procedures, initial trials are held before a judge before going before a jury and are not required to generate a transcript of the proceedings. Harding is being tried on domestic assault charges.
