Join hundreds of the profession’s top firm owners and managers in warm and beautiful Palm Desert, Calif., for NCRA’s Firm Owners Executive Conference. The gathering is being held Feb. 8-10 at the J.W. Marriot Desert Springs Resort & Spa. The Firm Owners Executive Conference is the only event designed exclusively for owners and managers of court reporting and CART captioning firms and is recognized as NCRA’s most prestigious event.
One of several sessions featured on this year’s schedule includes “Getting Video Down to Art,” which will be moderated by NCRA member Brian Clune, CLVS, from San Anselmo, Calif. Clune has more than 23 years of experience in the court reporting, video, and trial presentation industry. He serves as a member of NCRA’s Certified Legal Video Council, is a contributor to the textbook Guide to Video Depositions, and has written numerous articles about the legal video industry. He currently serves as vice president of YESLAW, where he is involved in helping develop the next generation of deposition delivery standards.
According to Clune, the session will cover how some firms can increase profits through offering video services, provide an overview of the many potential opportunities that exist both in and out of the traditional legal arenas, and offer an outline of the relevant technologies being used in the video field.
“As the use of video expands, it is important to capture the revenues but it is also critical to provide professional service,” said Clune.
“If you are considering increasing revenue with video services or expanding your video revenue, we will have a panel of experienced legal videographers and firm owners to help answer questions about the many opportunities out there.”
Other conference highlights include keynote speaker Sarah Michel, a networking expert who will deliver an address about the powerful benefits of networking and how it can increase your net worth, the release of the findings of the sixth annual Firm Owners Economic Benchmark Survey, and the popular Vender Speed Dating session. Longtime attendees of the Firm Owners conference continuously note the value of the multiple networking opportunities and the high-quality of the sessions that are offered each year.
“No matter the size of your firm, be sure it is prepared to assist in molding the future of our profession and has the resources available at the ready to meet the demand for services in the coming years,” Sarah Nageotte, RDR, CRR, CBC, an official court reporter from Jefferson, Ohio, and 2014-2015 NCRA President. “Make the investment and attend NCRA’s 2015 Firm Owners Executive Conference.”
