On Dec. 23, 2015, station KCWI 23 aired a feature story about the court reporting and captioning professions and showcased the program offered at Des Moines Area Community College. Interviewed in the piece were Patricia Ziegler, chair of DMACC’s court reporting department; NCRA member Tanya Gerke, RMR, CRR, an official court reporter from State Center, Iowa; and Rachel Ellefson, a court reporting student at DMACC. Ellefson is the daughter of NCRA member Brenda Ellefson, RMR, an official court reporter from Marshalltown, Iowa.
