Talk radio station CJAD, Montreal, Quebec, reported on Sept. 24, on a new twist in a continuing story about Canadian movie theaters providing access to captioned films. Jeffrey Liebman, a deaf Montrealer, is claiming he was discriminated against by Cineplex, which refused access to English captions because the French captions for the same movie weren’t available. A representative who spoke to the Office de la Langue Francaise said that there’s no such stipulation in the law.
