NCRA and its members celebrated May as Celebrate Certification Month. It was great to see our members so proud of the certifications they have earned. As we end the month, we have one more piece of news to share about certifications (drum roll, please). NCRA will be piloting a Remote Certificate program at the 2021 NCRA Conference & Expo, utilizing the NCRA Learning Center, NCRA’s new learning management system, thus enabling our members to demonstrate yet another level of proficiency of an important skill that they can offer to those firms they work for and/or their clients.
2020 was a crazy year, but it allowed court reporters and videographers to become an even more valuable asset to the court and deposition setting and allowed more opportunities for captioners to provide equal access. Our members were on the forefront of keeping communication access and the wheels of justice moving by being able to handle legal work remotely and making sure the record was being handled by a professional. Reporters and videographers nationwide assisted their clients in how to handle the record remotely, and that is the impetus for this new certificate program. Stay tuned for more information, but we figured this was a great way to create a grand finale to our annual May Celebrate Certification Month!
