The NCRA Learning Center continues its packed schedule with four new live webinars on deck for the month of May. The Association is dedicated to bringing you the latest in technology, education, and best practices for the profession.
IT specialist Kenya Herring continues her computer skills series with Web Page Building Basics on May 5. Learn the basics of web development languages HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) to help you build a better website. Be sure to check out Herring’s previous webinar Make your Excel EXCELLENT!
Carmine Giuliano will offer troubleshooting tips, equipment recommendations, and best practices for Hybrid Depositions on May 11. “Hybrid depositions represent a unique challenge because they combine the in-person experience with the remote meeting component,” says Guiliano. “Reporters and videographers need to manage multiple environments simultaneously while making sure that taking the record is not compromised.”
Stenograph representative Todd Schludt will help you Fall in Love with Your New and/or Existing Writer on May 18. Your writer is the most important component of your job, so getting to know it inside and out will make your job that much easier. “Join me to learn how to dial in your writer to reduce editing time and learn about features you might not know your writer has,” Schludt says.
Finally, on May 25, Lillian Freiler, FAPR, RMR, CMRS, will teach you to stay Steno STRONG: Pass it Along! As a professional steno reporter, you know the value of your services and the risks involved in using anyone other than a stenographic reporter to capture the record. “After attending this webinar,” says Freiler, “you will be able to use valuable resources readily available such as marketing flyers, PowerPoints, template letters, and more to educate attorneys, paralegals, court administration about why stenography is the best way to protect the accuracy in the court and captioning arena.”
