“It’s an experience you will never forget. If you have never learned how to advocate and defend your profession and the needs of those who depend on our realtime writing, you can learn at the 2023 NCRA Leadership & Legislative Boot Camp.” — Margary Rogers, RPR, CRI, of Washington, D.C.
Court reporting and captioning leaders throughout the country and their various affiliated court reporting organizations are invited to register for the 2023 NCRA Leadership & Legislative Boot Camp at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Alexandria Old Town, Va. This three-day event is scheduled for Feb. 26-28, with registration closing Jan. 26 for both the event and access to the special discounted rate for rooms for NCRA attendees.
NCRA’s Leadership & Legislative Boot Camp offers an immersive, hands-on opportunity for members to advocate for the court reporting, captioning, scoping, legal videography, and associated legal professions. It is one of the most anticipated annual events for new and veteran members alike.
For the third year, NCRA Director of Government Relations Jocelynn A. Moore, Esq., and Executive Director Dave Wenhold, CAE, PLC, will be hosting the event. Attendees can expect to participate in intensive sessions and training that will teach them the skills and strategies necessary to effectively advocate for their profession in state legislatures and in Congress, and learn how to navigate real-life scenarios where they can put their newly learned advocacy skills into practice and network with other NCRA members who are passionate about their profession.
“We are especially excited to host Boot Camp this year because it is the first time in two years and nine months that the U.S. Capitol has reopened to the American public,” Moore said. “For the first time since early 2020, attendees will have the opportunity to advocate for their professions and lobby their legislators on Capitol Hill, freely and in person. We are elated that you will be able to join us back on Capitol Hill during this exciting time,” she added.
Registration rates are $275 for members, $225 for a second member from the same state, and $375 for nonmembers. Reservation information for the NCRA discounted room rate at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Alexandria Old Town will be provided in your confirmation email once event registration is complete.
