NCRA’s Constitution & Bylaws permit members to cast their votes via secure, online means. But to exercise the right, members must have a current email address on file in NCRA’s membership database and be opted in to receive emails from NCRA. This enables NCRA to keep you informed of any amendments coming up for a vote and to provide you with information on how to register and cast your vote online. Members who are eligible to vote will be able to sign on to the secure website and then vote through a private, secure link during the 24-hour voting period.
The deadline to verify or update your email address for voting on Board of Director candidates is June 15.
The deadline to verify or update your email address for voting on Bylaws amendments and the dues increase is July 17.
Voting on director and officer seats
At this time, additional nominations for the Board of Directors have been received. The deadline for additional nominations was May 7.
Because additional nominations have been received, Voting Members are invited to attend a Town Hall to meet the candidates where positions have more than one candidate on June 13 for the position of Vice President, and June 14 for the position of Director, both beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
Voting is required to occur at least 30 days before the Annual Business Meeting, which is scheduled for Thursday, July 27, 2023, in Houston, Texas; therefore, voting will start on June 19, 9 a.m. Eastern, and lasts 24 hours. The deadline to verify or update your email address to participate in this vote is June 15.
Voting on bylaws amendments
NCRA Constitution & Bylaws amendments have been put forward and will be voted on following discussion at the Annual Business Meeting scheduled for Thursday, July 27. Voting on Bylaws amendments opens within two hours of the close of the Annual Business Meeting and ends after 24 hours.
The deadline to verify or update your email address to participate in any votes on Bylaws is July 17.
Voting on dues increase
A dues increase has been proposed by the Finance Committee and approved by the Board to put forth to the membership. Since a proposal has been made, Voting Members will be able to vote on this topic following discussion at the Annual Business Meeting scheduled for Thursday, July 27. Voting on the dues increase opens within two hours of the close of the Annual Business Meeting and ends after 24 hours.
The deadline to verify or update your email address to participate in any votes on dues increases is July 17.
Who can vote
Only Participating Members who are verbatim stenographic reporters and/or stenographic captioners and Registered Members who are verbatim stenographic reporters and/or stenographic captioners, as well as Retired Members, and Retired Lifetime Members and Honorary Members who have been verbatim stenographic reporters and/or stenographic captioners, shall be eligible to vote. Members may cast their votes via their phones, tablets, or computers.
Verify or update your email before the deadlines
Please make sure NCRA has your current email address in the database. To verify your email address, visit the member portal at NCRA.org. Click on “Login” at the very top of the website, log in with your NCRA ID and password, then once you see a “Welcome” message, click on “My Profile.” To change your email address, click on “Update My Profile.” If you make changes, please be sure to click “Save Profile Information” near the bottom of the profile page.
