Students are encouraged to apply for the National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF) quarterly Career Launcher Student Grants. The grants cover the cost to participate in the student program, which is $100 for members and $175 for nonmembers. Interested students can apply for the next drawing by the deadline of June 14.
The NCRF Career Launcher training program is designed to serve as a bridge and to provide tips of the trade for students of steno shorthand and new professionals between graduation and their first job. The program is offered through the NCRA Learning Center.
In January 2022 NCRF began awarding grants that cover the Career Launcher program fees for students. Five to seven winners are selected each quarter.
Students actively studying to become stenographic court reporters and testing at 180 wpm or higher are encouraged to apply. Full details on eligibility and an application can be found here. Completed applications will be entered into a drawing to take place after the June 14 deadline. Applications not drawn as winners will be included in future quarterly drawings.
