2023 NCRA Leadership & Legislative Boot Camp attendees at the U.S. Capitol Building
Consider this your reminder that registration for the 2024 Leadership & Legislative Boot Camp closes January 24. NCRA hosts this annual event to provide our members with invaluable insight and resources to become effective advocates at all levels of government. Many past attendees have gone on to use the knowledge they gained to protect the profession as local courts and legislatures considered changes to rules governing court reporters and captioners. Some members have even gone on to run in city or state elections. The information you learn here can be life-changing, even in the short term. For instance, last year we even had a member join us all the way from Alaska, and she was able to meet with her entire Congressional delegation.
The purpose of the three-day Boot Camp is for members to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of effective advocacy. By offering attendees the opportunity to learn from a range of expert speakers, including yours truly, and role-playing scenarios, we accomplish just that. And when you spend a day on Capitol Hill meeting with your U.S. senators, representatives, and staff, we can do so much more together.
