Throughout the month of March, NCRA conducted its first annual Membership Mania — a bracket-style vote among sixteen membership benefits — through the JCR Weekly. With 1,454 participating votes, the inaugural winner of the first annual Membership Mania is NCRA Certifications.
NCRA has administered its nationally recognized certification program to support members since 1937. In addition, many states currently accept or use the RPR in place of the state certification or licensing exam. NCRA currently offers eight certifications: Registered Skilled Reporter (RSR), Registered Professional Reporter (RPR), Registered Merit Reporter (RMR), Registered Diplomate Reporter (RDR), Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR), Certified Realtime Captioner (CRC), Certified Reporting Instructor (CRI), and Certified Legal Video Specialist (CLVS).
Each year NCRA designates May as Celebrate Certification Month. The month-long campaign is a way for NCRA members to show pride in the certifications they have earned, are working to earn, or are intending to earn.
NCRA will be offering onsite testing at the annual Conference & Expo happening August 1-3 in Louisville, Ky. Registration opens April and will end July 8 or when slots are filled, whichever comes first.
