Junior and senior government classes at Southeast Polk High School in Iowa recently heard from the state’s Chief Justice Susan Christensen, who called court reporting a compelling career avenue within the legal sphere. NCRA member and official court reporter Joni Fleig, RPR, demonstrated how she could take down every spoken word using a special shorthand court reporting machine.
