As the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) marks its 125th anniversary, the Association finds itself at the precipice of a new opportunity to amplify the presence of the court reporting, professional captioning, and legal videography communities. With our objective to deliver effective, proactive advocacy, we must recognize the incredible potential that lies within the simple yet powerful tool we have at our fingertips: The hashtag, and specifically #NCRAGR.
When used strategically, hashtags can greatly expand NCRA’s advocacy and organizing efforts, sparking conversations that will increase the Association’s reach. By consistently using #NCRAGR to flag emerging issues relevant to the court reporting, professional captioning, and legal videography communities, members can create a digital footprint that is easily recognizable and, more importantly, searchable across all social media platforms. This not only increases NCRA’s visibility, but also fosters a sense of community among members by encouraging them to say something when they see something that the Association’s Government Relations could potentially act upon as well as disseminate information about issues that are crucial across the community.
When sharing an article, official NCRA business, or submitting a comment online, simply conclude your post with #NCRAGR. This will make it easier for staff and members to monitor emerging issues or potentially relevant information related to advocacy, grassroots organization, and providing updates related to Government Relations committees. By empowering NCRA’s members to become effective advocates for the shared interests of the Association and the community, you are in turn becoming advocacy ambassadors for NCRA.
Additionally, a dedicated email, NCRAGR@ncra.org, has been established for members to submit their questions, comments, or concerns to that will be reviewed on a weekly basis.
Together we can and will continue to make a difference.
