We’re putting the fun back in fundraising thanks to the 2024 Angel Gatherers Committee for the National Court Reporters Foundation.
When Angel Gatherers Committee member Sharon Velazco, RPR, suggested the idea of offering an Angel’s Envy Bourbon gift basket as a raffle fundraiser at the NCRA Conference & Expo, ideas cascaded from her colleagues on Zoom. Continuing the firestorm of great ideas, committee members lit up the email list. These members appear to be lovers of Louisville’s finest Angel’s Envy Bourbon — that could be one explanation! Another thing was clear. They greatly care about NCRF’s mission above all.
“How can you go to Louisville and go home sans bourbon?” asked Rich Germosen, FAPR, RDR, CRR, Chair of the NCRF Angel Gatherers Committee.
Predicting the raffle winner’s advantage, Velazco said, “You can be an Angel as you sip your Angel’s Envy bourbon Old Fashioned and sponsor a worthy cause.”
Assembling the gift basket was the next step. Taking immediate ownership to collect the basket’s elements was committee member Greg Weiland, RMR, CRR. “For the bourbon aficionado, our bourbon basket is a treasure trove of indulgence,” Weiland said. “Enjoy a sip of fine bourbon from these gorgeous Moser Pebbles double old fashioned glasses. It’s the perfect basket for those who enjoy the finer things in life while at the same time supporting our beloved NCRF!”
Committee Co-Chair Sandy Narup, RPR, contributed the elegant cigars and stands ready to spread the raffle details far and wide. “This is such a fun way to support this great cause,” she said. “Have a little fun with the raffle and enjoy some amazing bourbon in some really cool glasses as well as some extra goodies in the basket!”

Help support National Court Reporter Foundation (NCRF) programs designed to benefit members of the court reporting and captioning communities. Purchase a raffle ticket (or several!) to be eligible to win a just-released NexGen writer generously donated by Stenograph valued at $5,395. The winner will be selected by Stenograph representatives during the 2024 NCRA Conference & Expo taking place in Louisville, Ky., Aug. 1-3.

Clutch for a Cause
NCRF is also holding its Clutch for a Cause fundraiser with an upscale clutch raffled off at the Conference. The Gedebe embellished evening bag, valued at approximately $800, was graciously donated by Early Langley, RMR; NCRF Past Chair and former Trustee Tami Keenan, FAPR, RPR, CPE; and NCRF Manager Jill Parker Landsman.
