A look back at the #YesNCRA campaign members will be voting on in Louisville

As we mark the quasquicentennial of the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA), we arrive at a critical juncture that its members consider the future of their organization and its ability to continue serving them effectively. For 125 years NCRA has been a steadfast advocate for our members and a provider of essential services as well as setting the gold standard for certification in the court reporting, professional captioning, and legal videography communities. However, to ensure that this mission can continue and maintain the high level of support NCRA offers, members must take a bold step forward with the dues adjustment proposal before them.

Times have changed drastically since 2019 when the last dues adjustment was approved. The costs of operating NCRA and delivering the services and events our members rely on have increased significantly. Without this dues adjustment, NCRA risks being unable to maintain the quality and breadth of its offerings.

The 2024 dues adjustment proposal is not just about meeting our current needs; it is about securing our future. Should this dues adjustment be implemented, we are investing in the continued success of NCRA, the well-being of our members and their livelihoods. As we celebrate 125 years of NCRA serving its members, let us look forward with confidence and determination knowing that we have taken the necessary steps to ensure our continued relevance, impact, and belief that our best days remain ahead of us, not behind.

Here is a look back at the efforts of your Association; its Board of Directors; current and former officers; and various members of the court reporting, broadcast and CART captioning, and legal videography communities urging their colleagues to vote yes for this proposed dues adjustment:
