Need CEUs? Find ways to earn while you learn

Whether you need to earn CEUs before your Cycle End Date of Sept. 30 or are just looking to learn something new, the NCRA Learning Center has what you are looking for: Live and on-demand webinars, article and book tests, certification education, and more.

Update your tech toolbox with two new live webinars on tap for September. On Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. Eastern, Kenya Herring, an IT specialist from Washington, D.C., is back with her ninth NCRA tech-based webinar, Power BI for Beginners (0.125 CEU). Microsoft’s powerful business tool helps you import and organize your data into impactful visual reports like charts, graphs, maps, and tables.

On Sept. 25 at 2 p.m. Eastern, Hector Cordova, CLVS, joins Sarah Kleinschmidt, CLVS, for Keeping Your Internet Connection for Remote Proceedings (0.1 CEU). “Unlock the secrets of seamless connectivity and empower yourself for remote sessions from anywhere — be it your home office or conference room in the middle of nowhere,” says Cordova.

On-demand webinars

On-demand webinars represent the most convenient way to earn CEUs when and where you need them. On-demand webinars feature recorded video and downloadable handout materials and allow you to access the best presentations from past NCRA events and live webinars. The NCRA Learning Center hosts an entire library covering the latest topics like technology, cybersecurity, grammar tips, financial wellness, and more.

Article and book tests

Article tests are brief articles followed by short, multiple-choice tests. Some research may be required to answer the questions. Book tests are multiple-choice tests on books approved by the Council of the Academy of Professional Reporters (CAPR) for professional development credits (PDCs). Remember, you may only earn 1.0 PDC per cycle toward your continuing education requirements.

Certification education

The NCRA Learning Center has a robust selection of certification education programs, including certification workshops, practice and speedbuilding skills tests, and the NCRF Career Launcher program.

Other ways to earn

NCRA offers many other continuing education opportunities. Members can attend preapproved events, learn CPR, transcribe oral histories, or participate in the NCRA Virtual Mentor Program. Visit Ways to Earn Continuing Education for a complete list and further details.

Cycle extensions

If you need a four-month cycle extension (to Jan. 31) to finish those last CEUs, you may fill out the CEU extension request form by Sept. 30. Note that the deadline to complete CEUs or to request an extension is the same date.

If you have any questions, need assistance with identifying upcoming continuing education opportunities, or need help checking your CEU status, please contact our Credentialing Coordinator at continuinged@ncra.org or 800-272-6272.
