For the second consecutive year the National Court Reporters Foundation sponsored Celebrate Communication, held this September at the Springfield Town Center in Springfield, Va.
Now in its 21st year, this informational fair is hosted by the Northern Virginia Resource Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Persons (NVRC), located in Fairfax County, Va. It is specifically designed for the deaf and hard of hearing communities, their families, and friends. Visitors to this mini expo learn about the latest communication technologies and apps, implants, hearing aids, telephone relay services, American Sign Language, and captioning.
Representatives were on hand to tell visitors about local services and the Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing had information about its Technology Assistance Program. Popular deaf crafters also offered their one-of-a-kind wares for sale. NVRC’s team was available to talk about their device demonstration room, educational programs, free hearing screenings, ASL interpreter program, tinnitus support, and other related services.
NCRF Trustees unanimously voted to sponsor this event again in 2025 due to their passion to help the deaf and hard of hearing communities.
