From Keith R. Lemons, FAPR, RPR, CRR (Ret.), NCRA President:
We were informed on Monday, January 6, 2025, that NCRA is being sued for an alleged antitrust violation related to our certification and membership requirements. We have reviewed an advance copy of the complaint and believe it is frivolous and without merit. We are proceeding with the legal process to vigorously defend and defeat the suit brought against your professional association.
Rest assured, NCRA will fully and absolutely litigate the claims made against the Association, and we will prevail. We are proud to be the only association for court reporters and captioners with an exemplary 125-year history. We will continue to do the great work of representing our highly skilled members and protecting the record for all.
Thank you for being part of your professional Association and being the gold standard in the record-making process. We appreciate your continued support as we navigate through this litigation.
