NCRA Board of Directors calls for vital dues adjustment for 2026

The NCRA Board has approved a motion calling for a dues adjustment that would take effect in 2026. The proposed adjustments are $30 for Registered and Participating members, $15 for Participating or Registered International members, $18 for Associate members, and $15 for Associate International members. There would be no increase in the membership costs for Students or Retired members.

Per NCRA’s Constitution and Bylaws, dues adjustments must be approved by the voting membership. The dues adjustment will be discussed during the Annual Business Meeting being held July 24 at the 2025 NCRA Conference & Expo taking place July 24-26 in Minneapolis, Minn. Voting on the proposed change in dues will follow the Annual Business Meeting.

If approved, this would be the first adjustment approved since 2019, more than five years ago.

“We appreciate that the cost of just about everything has been on a continuous rise, including the cost of doing business. Your Board of Directors is once again asking members to support a dues adjustment to help NCRA defray the rising costs of doing business while still supporting its members with high-quality products and services, like educational opportunities, meaningful learning events, and an array of other benefits,” said NCRA President-Elect Cindy L. Isaacsen, RPR, an official court reporter from Shawnee, Kan.

“Since the failure of the proposed dues adjustment of $50 proposed in 2024 that would have taken effect in this year, you may have noticed some reduction in benefits such as the smaller size of the JCR print magazine and higher registration costs for NCRA-supported events. I urge each of you to vote for this latest proposed increase to not only show your support for your Association and what it does for you, but to also show your support and commitment to our wonderful stenographic profession that gives us so much. Please consider this as a way to give back. And remember that for many of us our professional dues are tax-deductible,” she added.
