In response to the government’s monthly jobs report that came out earlier this month, NPR asked listeners to send in a brief description of their job along with a photo via Twitter and Instagram. The montage of submissions were recently published on NPR’s Planet Money blog and featured an array of photos and job descriptions, including one from a captioner working at a steno machine. According to the Live TV and event captioner: “I sit in my home office and listen to live newscasts and sporting events all around the country, using a steno machine to write what the announcers say.”
