Join NCRA’s Captioning Committee for a free webinar Jan. 18, 8:00 p.m. Eastern being offered to members and nonmembers who have the winter captioning blues.
Speakers Heidi Thomas, FAPR, RDR, CRC, CRR, a captioner from Kennesaw, Ga., and a member of NCRA’s Board of Directors, and Rebecca Tallarico, RPR, CRR, CRC, a captioner from Orefield, Pa., and member of the Captioning Committee will lead the conversation.
According to Captioning Committee Chair Kelly D. Linkowski, RPR, CRR, CRC, CPE, a captioner from Rittman, Ohio, the webinar is the first of three planned informal Zoom meetings the committee plans to hold in 2022 and encourages anyone who has topic ideas to send them to captioning@ncra.com.
“Even before COVID, captioning was a siloed community. Sometimes we don’t know a software solution because we never thought to ask the question. When captioners are together, resources are shared, resulting in the best accessibility experience for the consumer,” Linkowski said.
“Captioning is a niche in the stenographic world. Every formal or informal event improves your ability either in dictionary skills, writing, time management, and much, much more. NCRA wants to provide more opportunities for captioners to share and collaborate,” she added.
