The recipient of the 2022 Sue Shelton White Scholarship, awarded by NCRA’s Council on Approved Student Education (CASE), is Jodie Carrico, from Clintonville, Wis., a student at Lakeshore Technical College in Cleveland, Wis. The $1,500 scholarship is one of five CASE awards each year.
The four other CASE Scholarships are awarded in the amounts of $250, $500, $750, and $1,000. Winners are chosen based on a weighted combination of speed, GPA, recommendations, and a written essay.
This year’s essay questions was: What is a study tool or technique that has been effective for you in school, and how can you see that applying to your future career?
The following students are the additional 2022 recipients of the CASE Scholarships:
- Hayley Peters, from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, a student at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Alberta, Canada, $1,000
- Emelyn Lih, from Astoria, N.Y., a student at Plaza College in Queens, N.Y., $750
- Luisa Vertucci, from Hackensack, N.J., a student at Plaza College in Queens, N.Y., $500
- Nicole Swanson, from Oyster Bay, N.Y., a student at Plaza College in Queens, N.Y., $250
