NCRA veteran member and court reporter Brenda L. Fauber, RDR, CRR, CPE, an official court reporter from Omaha, Neb., was awarded NCRA’s Distinguished Service Award during the organization’s annual Convention & Expo. Fauber, a court reporter for more than 34 years, has volunteered at both the state and national level and given back to the profession in many ways. A member of NCRA, the U.S. Court Reporters Association, and her state association, the Nebraska Court Reporters Association, Fauber has brought her considerable talents to these organizations in the testing realm. She serves as a CPE and a chief examiner for NCRA, as well as serving as a chief examiner for the organization’s realtime testing including grading and verification for USCRA. She has also served as chair of NCRA’s Job Analysis Task Force and Item Writing Committee, as well as a member of its Test Advisory Committee.
At the state level, Fauber is a past president of the Nebraska Court Reporters Association and editor of the organization’s publication, The Scribe. She has also served as chair of its Legislative Committee and currently chairs its Committee to Protect the Record.
In 2006, she was recognized by USCRA with Samuel M. Blumberg, Jr. Award of Excellence. In 2012, she was awarded fellowship in NCRA’s Academy of Professional Reporters, which recognizes recipients for their outstanding and extraordinary qualifications and experience.
