The Indiana Shorthand Reporters Association announced it has officially changed its name to the Indiana Court Reporters Association in an effort to more accurately represent the modern aspects of the profession. The announcement was made in a press release issued on Dec. 2.
“The change more accurately represents the modern aspects of our profession, the technology we use, and the vast continuing education we all strive to obtain,” said INCRA President Tonya J. Kaiser, RPR, CMRS, a freelance reporter from Fort Wayne, Ind. “We are no longer shorthand writers sitting with paper and pencil. We are technically savvy guardians of the record.”
